ABOUT ME...

It's not really 'all about me' (of course), but the point of this site is to give you a quick introduction to who I am, and especially provides a place for me to publish my resume on the internet.

I recently (April 2008) relocated to Golden, Colorado with my wife Linda. Later in 2008 more of our family joined us in Colorado, including Linda's mother and our 18 year old son Tyler who graduated from high school in June (he will be attending college out here).

We're hoping others in our family will eventually come here too! We love it...

We lived in a beautiful little beach town in Southern California, in Orange County named Dana Point.

About 1 1/2 mile walk from our old house in Dana Point. Are we crazy for moving?!? We do miss the beach!

We both had good jobs, but we didn't own a house (after 4 1/2 years of marriage). And we really couldn't see getting in 'hock' up to our ears with the high mortgage costs in California (where homes typically cost around $800K for about 2,200 sqft!). (In Colorado they are in the $300K's for similar square footage.)

So we looked around and studied other areas to live that would suit our desire to live a more 'outdoorsy' life style, and still be able to work at a decent job within reasonable distance, and to be able to afford a home.

We finally settled on the Denver-metro area after over 2 years of study and lots of prayer. Linda really loved her job and didn't want to leave, so she approached her company, knowing they have an office in a nice area of downtown Denver. It turned out they were looking for someone in the Denver office with EXACTLY her skills and experience! So within a couple of months it all came together, and Linda's work paid for about 1/2 the cost of the move, which really helped.

For the first 5 months I worked remotely for the company I worked at in California, Panasonic Avionics. Panasonic agreed to let me work remotely for a while (few months) until I could line something else up that would be more permanent. It worked out great working from my new home office for a while.

Freelancing In and Around Denver

Consulting Engagement In Denver
(link goes to DemandPoint website in new window)
In September 2008 I landed a local consulting job in the Denver area at a leading supply chain consulting company named DemandPoint. My role there was as a combination Product Manager/Marketing Manager.

Since Feb 2009 I have been freelancing with web design, internet advertising, etc. with my new company Mile High Marketing

See Professional Background page on this site for more detail and current work status.

We really love our new house in Genessee Village in Golden, just 20 minutes west of downtown Denver, yet it is at 7,500 ft elevation up in the foothills of the Rockies. Typically every day we see several deer in our yard (or elk about once per month). And there are always geese and ducks in the pond that is just below our house.

We are about 45 minutes (to an hour) to some major ski areas including
Echo Mtn, Eldora, Winter Park, and Loveland, or about ~1 hour to Arapahoe Basin (ABasin), Keystone, and maybe ~3 hours (I think) from Breckenridge, Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, or Steamboat Springs. In spite of this, regretably, we still haven't made it out skiiing or snowboarding as of this writing!! We had planned to over Christmas holiday, but we all got sick :(. So very soon we are due for a day skiing/snowboarding!

This is kind of where we are relative to Denver and the major ski resorts
:

(the top arrow points to Echo Mtn, we are about 2/3 of the way between there and Denver if coming from Denver...see bottom arrow)
